Welcome to the

Carlsbad High School

Parent Teacher Student Association

~ ~ ~

Thank you for visiting our parent page.

Parents make the difference between a good school and a GREAT school.

As a new year begins, we see so many new things are here and happening, all for the betterment of our children! Our Parent Association has become a PTSA to better meet our school's needs.  Our email has changed as well, to:

The purpose of the CHS PTSA is to support the mission of Carlsbad High School; raise funds primarily through annual membership drives; promote communication and cooperation in an environment of respect; and coordinate or assist in coordinating volunteer efforts in support of Carlsbad High School.

We invite all parents, teachers, students and staff who want to be involved with the PTSA to join with a membership. There are a few Board positions open for anyone who would like to volunteer!  Volunteering at CHS is a fun way to meet people and provide important service to our school community. There are many opportunities to get involved and as this year comes to an end, we invite interested parent volunteers to serve on our board.

We appreciate anything you can do to help out and look forward to meeting you.

CHS PTSA Fall Membership Drive

Adult membership - $10, Student membership - $5!

Thank you to all parents and students who helped us at registration & back to school night!

If you have already joined PTSA Thank You! If you haven’t had the chance, please consider joining PTSA and becoming a voice in your students' high school experience.  This is your last chance to be part of their education before they head off to college and it’s easy. You can donate your time, your many talents,or you can help our bottom line and make a donation. Student Members can get community service hours by volunteering at our events.

With an annual budget this year of $92k we support student educational programs like Reflections & student tutoring. Our group also offers student and school support like the college and career fair, senior student scholarships, grad night, family disaster support, parent educational events & Red and Yellow Ribbon activities. We also provide our teachers mini grants & staff hospitality. We are helping to fund the Jumbotron screen in the Lancer Arena and sound systems in our football stadium.

Forms and payments can be turned into the CHS front office or mailed to our office at this time. All donations are tax deductible and any amount over your membership donation stays at the school and is used to benefit the entire student population at CHS. Thank you in advance for all you do for the kids at CHS!!

Summer Programs

Listed below are links with information regarding  programs available during the summer.  Neither CHS nor the PTSA endorses any particular program, but provides this list for information only.  As always, students and parents can reach out to their CHS counselor to discuss summer opportunities.

SAT/ACT Prep Class Information

The CHS PTSA, with review by the CHS Guidance Department, has put together information for a number of SAT/ACT preparation class opportunities.  Neither CHS or the PTSA endorses any particular program, but encourages students and their parents to contact those offering prep classes and make their own decision.  As always, students and parents can reach out to their CHS counselor to discuss SAT/ACT prep classes and the timing in terms of taking such classes and the actual tests as part of the college application process.
