Welcome to the

Carlsbad High School

Parent Teacher Student Association

~ ~ ~

Thank you for visiting our parent page.

Parents make the difference between a good school and a GREAT school.

As a new year begins, we see so many new things are here and happening, all for the betterment of our children! This year our Parent Association has become a PTSA to better meet our school's needs.  Our email has changed as well, to:

chspa@carlsbadusd.net

The purpose of the CHS PTSA is to support the mission of Carlsbad High School; raise funds primarily through annual membership drives; promote communication and cooperation in an environment of respect; and coordinate or assist in coordinating volunteer efforts in support of Carlsbad High School.

We invite all parents (teachers & students) who want to be involved with the PTSA to join with a membership. There are a few Board positions open for anyone who would like to volunteer!  Volunteering at CHS is a fun way to meet people and provide important service to our school community. There are many opportunities to get involved and as this year comes to an end, we invite interested parent volunteers to serve on our board.

We are currently coordinating with our Guidance Department to supply College Ambassador volunteers for visiting college representatives. If you are interested in volunteering, or have any questions, please email us at chspa@carlsbadusd.net to inquire further about volunteering as a College Ambassador.  You can also email our Communications Board Member, Jim Ribelin at jim@ribelin.net.

We appreciate anything you can do to help out and look forward to meeting you.

Regards,

Georgiana Lapp – President CHS-PTSA

SAT/ACT Prep Class Information

The CHS PTSA, with review by the CHS Guidance Department, has put together information for a number of SAT/ACT preparation class opportunities.  Neither CHS or the PTSA endorses any particular program, but encourages students and their parents to contact those offering prep classes and make their own decision.  As always, students and parents can reach out to their CHS counselor to discuss SAT/ACT prep classes and the timing in terms of taking such classes and the actual tests as part of the college application process.
